Design Your Universe merupakan produk terbaru dari Epica yang telahpun diriliskan pada Oktober 2009. Ini merupakan album studio yang keempat Epica. Sebelum ini Epica pernah menghasilkan album seperti The Phantom Agony (2003), Consign to Oblivion (2005) dan The Divine Conspiracy (2007). Selain itu mereka juga pernah menerbitkan beberapa siri album kompilasi seperti We Will Take You With Us (2004), The Score - An Epic Journey (2005), The Road to Paradiso (2006) dan The Classical Conspiracy (2009).
Epica band symphonic metal yang berasal dari Netherland sebelum menggunakan nama Epica lebih dikenali dengan nama Sahara Dust. Antara EP dan single yang pernah dikeluarkan untuk album-album Epica ialah The Phantom Agony (2003), Feint (2004), Cry for the Moon (2004), Solitary Ground (2005), Quietus (Silent Reverie)(2005), Never Enough (2007), Chasing the Dragon (2008) dan Unleashed (2009). Manakala untuk video muzik, mereka telah menerbitkan video antaranya The Phantom Agony (2003), Feint (2004), Solitary Ground (2005), Quietus (2005), Never Enough (2007) dan Unleashed (2009).
Sebagai hasil pertama untuk mem[erkenalkan Epica mereka pernah menghasilkan demo yang berjudul Cry for the Moon dalam tahun 2002.
